Safe Harbor Home Care is a San Diego-based company hiring Personal Care Attendants to provide non-medical in-home care and support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities and mobility. Duties include bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, and companionship, helping clients remain in their homes.

Onboarding requires CA HCA registration, TB certificate, and required regulatory documents. Overtime is available; weekly pay and referral bonuses are offered in a friendly work

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.
• Current clearance on Home Care Aide Registry (on onboarding).
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate.
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number.
• Completed LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.
• Completed LIC 501 Personnel Record.
• Completed SOC 341A acknowledgement form.
• Minimum of five hours orientation prior to client presence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, toileting).
• Provide medication reminders and monitoring.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and transportation.
• Ensure care delivered in a caring, respectful manner per agency policies and state regulations.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred:

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
