Job summary

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists is seeking a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our team for a full-time role in a fast-paced clinic environment. You will be the first voice and face for patients, setting a warm, organized, and professional tone from the initial call through every visit.

Responsibilities include handling check-ins, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, payments, and HIPAA-compliant documentation, with opportunities for growth and leadership across clinic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience at a medical front desk preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and follow-up skills.
• Comfort with computers, scheduling systems, EMRs, email, and basic spreadsheets.
• Ability to discuss payments and scheduling professionally.
• Calm, patient-centered approach with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referrals.
• Manage front desk operations including check-in/out, scheduling, insurance verification, and calls.
• Review and follow up on referrals, update patient records, explain next steps.
• Maintain patient flow by confirming appointments, managing waitlists, and handling cancellations.
• Collect copays and balances, with basic payment tracking.
• Protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a medical front desk, healthcare reception, physical therapy, chiropractic, dental, or similar clinical office setting preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and follow-up skills
• Comfort using computers, phones, scheduling systems, electronic medical records, email, and basic spreadsheets
• Ability to discuss payments, scheduling expectations, and basic insurance information with professionalism
• A calm, patient-centered approach with strong attention to detail and a willingness to help the team

About

• Compensation Range: $15-$17/HR
