The Care Companion provides supportive patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations, verbal abuse, high noise levels, bright lights, hazardous substances, body fluids, blood, and other infectious materials. May have periods of constant interruptions and work alone for extended periods.
Additional physical requirements include manual dexterity, shift work, maneuvering patients, hearing alarms, reaching, repetitive movements, finger dexterity, visual acuity, depth perception, and use of latex products. Exposure to chemicals, moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, electrical shocks, electromagnetic energy, and high-pitched noises may occur.
Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles and assesses patient data to meet individual needs.
