Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat patients under medical leadership, coordinating care with the care team and families. This role emphasizes continuity of patient care, communication, and adherence to care standards.

The position requires an MS in nursing with Maryland NP licensure, DEA/CDS eligibility, and BCLS; ACLS preferred. The incumbent will collaborate across disciplines to improve outcomes and manage resources effectively.

Qualifications

• Requires Master of Science with Nurse Practitioner program completion.
• MD Board certification and license as Nurse Practitioner in Maryland.
• DEA and CDS eligibility; BCLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients under supervision by Medical Director and AVP.
• Maintain accurate medical records using the approved EMR system.
• Take calls from patients and providers to expedite services.
• Lead a team-based approach with RNs, social workers, and other clinicians.
• Ensure cost-effective, appropriate care and support readmission reduction.
• Coordinate care across the continuum with the care team and family.
• Maintain high-profile collaboration with medical staff and community providers.
• Review medical records periodically to ensure efficiency and appropriateness of care.
• Respond to emergencies and initiate care until physician/911 arrives.
• Pursue continuing education and stay current with literature and best practices.
• Comply with all provider and billing requirements for the CARE Center.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and strong communication.
