Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare/administration education preferred.
• 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, EHR).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual proficiency, Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance programs, eligibility processes, and prior authorization preferred.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance options, plan selection, and renewal processes.
• Respond to requests about applications, coverage, benefits, and related concerns via phone, EHR, or in person.
• Verify eligibility, ensure coverage retention, and assist with applications.
• Follow up to complete enrollment and support retention of coverage.
• Provide information on financial assistance options and payment plans.
• Assist with MyChart enrollment for online payments.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments and ensure accurate data entry in the EHR.
• Represent the organization at community events and health fairs with culturally appropriate education.
• Collaborate with care teams to reduce handoffs and deliver excellent customer service.
