Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is seeking a Referral & Authorization Coordinator to support patient continuity of care by coordinating referrals for specialty services and handling prior authorizations. The role also involves ordering imaging studies and ensuring documentation for medical necessity.

You will work with patients, physicians, office staff, specialty practices, and hospital departments, providing courteous service while performing clerical duties to sustain efficient clinic

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• A minimum of one year experience in a medical practice setting or equivalent training preferred.
• Ability to prepare basic written materials and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, the public and management.
• Must possess effective computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outgoing referrals for specialty care.
• Order diagnostic imaging studies and complete prior authorizations.
• Ensure proper documentation for medical necessity.
• Provide professional support to patients, physicians, and staff.
• Perform selected medical receptionist functions and general clerical tasks.
