Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to support non-invasive cardiovascular testing and patient care in a high-volume setting in New York. The role covers echocardiography, stress testing and vascular ultrasound to aid diagnosis and treatment decisions.

The candidate will work under credentialing requirements, maintain patient and study logs, and collaborate with cardiologists to customize examinations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program, the CMA or an unaccredited program with a minimum of 1-year cardiovascular ultrasound experience fulfilling requirement to sit for Registry.
• 0-2 years minimum of experience.
• Active ARDMS (RDCS/RVT) or CCI (RVS/RCS) status required.
• Heartsaver Certification or BLS from American Heart Association preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in techniques and equipment used for diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.
• Performs echocardiogram and related stress tests and vascular ultrasound exams to aid in diagnosis.
• Maintains records, logs, data acquisition and statistics as applicable.
• Ensures equipment is maintained per manufacturer specifications and cleans scan rooms.
• reports malfunctions per hospital policy and participates in process improvement projects.
• Prepares preliminary interpretation and reports for Attending Cardiologist; notifies provider for critical findings.
