Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and related non-invasive cardiovascular tests. You will work under the guidance of an Attending Cardiologist to ensure accurate image acquisition and interpretation, while maintaining patient records and equipment quality.

The role emphasizes high standards of infection control, continuous education, and collaboration with cardiology teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program, CMA or an unaccredited program with a minimum of 1-year cardiovascular ultrasound experience fulfilling registry.
• 0-2 years minimum of experience
• Active ARDMS (RDCS/RVT) or CCI (RVS/RCS) status required. Heartsaver/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in techniques and equipment for cardiovascular diagnosis and care.
• Performs echocardiogram, exercise stress echocardiogram, and vascular ultrasound tests to aid in diagnosis.
• Maintains records and logs; ensures equipment is maintained per manufacturer specifications.
• Prepares preliminary interpretations and reports for Attending Cardiologist’s review.
• Assists in training students and fellows in the lab.
