Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Review and record pertinent patient history and clinical data.
- Prepare patients for testing and perform clinical procedures to obtain anatomical, pathological, and physiological data.
- Participate in interventional cardiovascular procedures such as balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker or defibrillator insertion.
- Compile data for interpretation by physicians to diagnose medical conditions accurately.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of department standards, protocols, and procedures; demonstrate ongoing education.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare equipment and rooms for imaging procedures as directed by physicians and department protocols.
- Provide patient care across all age groups during exams and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and logs per department and licensing requirements.
- Perform general office duties such as answering phones and managing inventory of equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology with one year of related work experience, or
- Graduation from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology.
License/Certification
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) with CCI and licensed to practice in Washington, OR
- American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and Washington State Certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association
- Must possess RCIS certification; temporary classification available for recent graduates with six months to obtain certification
Additional Information
Location requires quarterly American Heart Association RQI competency certification. This ongoing requirement must be fulfilled through internal resources.
