Job Summary
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under the direction of a licensed physician. Work includes reviewing patient history, preparing patients for testing, performing clinical procedures, and participating in interventional procedures like balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker or defibrillator insertion. Compiles data for physician interpretation.
Maintains familiarity with FHS standards, protocols, and procedures; keeps skills current through continuing education, department meetings, and specialized learning from cardiologists.

Note: Cardiovascular Tech Non-Registered is a temporary classification for graduates awaiting RCIS certification, with a six-month period to obtain it after hire.
