Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Special Procedures Tech ARRT to join our cardiovascular team on the day shift. The role involves Scrubbing and assisting physicians during interventional procedures, documenting images in PACS, and maintaining sterile fields according to hospital protocol.

Qualified candidates will have RCIS/RCES or RT(R) licensure, ARRT certification, BLS, and ACLS within six months, plus strong patient interaction skills.

Qualifications

• Requires RCIS/RCES or equivalent registration within 1 year of hire.
• ARRT RT(R) licensure or eligible through an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• BLS required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist interventional physician during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and set up sterile trays per protocol.
• Monitor and document hemodynamic readings and patient status.
• Administer contrast media per age/weight guidelines.
• Document orders and verify images in PACS.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Cardiovascular Technologists/Special Procedure Techniciansdemonstrateknowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients served. Cardiovascular Technologists/ Special Procedure Techniciansare able toscrub/assistthe physician during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies. He or she is also able to record andmonitorthese cases andunderstandsthe hemodynamic measurements and readings from the valve areas.

What you will do in this role:

• You willdemonstratethe ability to perform contrast media administration according to age/weight specific guidelines.
• You willdemonstratethe ability to set up sterile trays andmaintainsterilefield, according to hospital protocol.
• You will scrub andassistinterventional physician during interventional procedures.
• You willdemonstrateknowledge of drugs, their actions, sideeffectsand contraindications for administration.
• You willexhibitthe ability to start andmaintainIV access.
• You will accurately follow physician orders, document completion ofexamin Meditech, scan documents and verify images in PACS.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must have one or both of the following:
• Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)) or must complete this advanced registration within one year of hire date.
• Current license or registry of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and licensed through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)].
• New and existing staff may be considered with 8yearsprocedure experience but must complete an advanced registration/certification (RCIS or RCES from CCI) or obtain their Radiologic Technologist license within one year of hire date.
• BLSrequired
• ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests,physiciansand other employees.
• Will consider newgradsof RCIS programs.
