Job Summary And Qualifications
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams while providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. This role involves coordinating daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of compassionate, holistic care that supports the rights and dignity of all patients.
What You'll Do In This Role
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA privacy regulations and hospital policies.
- Protect patients and employees by strictly adhering to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and emergency procedures for drug reactions or first aid.
- Ensure the proper operation of radiology equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new techniques.
- Perform all requested radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring high-quality images that meet site-specific standards and density requirements.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures, using immobilization devices and adjusting equipment controls to set proper exposure factors.
- Maintain patient comfort and safety during transport and throughout the exam, reducing patient anxiety through clear explanations and answering questions.
- Administer contrast agents under the guidance of the site Radiologist and practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Document patient care services accurately in department records and address any care-related problems with appropriate decision-making.
- Maintain a clean and professional working environment while participating in professional development through workshops and societies.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- (ARRT-R) Radiography required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Ability to work cooperatively with all facility healthcare professionals and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of radiography equipment, patient positioning, and diagnostic imaging standards.
