Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician or RCIS to support cardiology procedures in a fast-paced cath lab. You will scrub, monitor hemodynamics, operate imaging and other equipment, and assist with emergency interventions while educating patients throughout their procedural journey.

Requires ARRT/RCIS/RCES with CCI, SC licensure, and BLS. This full-time role is based in the Cardiac Cath Lab at MUSC facilities, with 36 hours weekly and hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent is required.
• ARRT registration or RCIS/RCES with CCI certification is required.
• SC radiation quality standards licensure and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Scrub and provide technical support during cardiac catheterization and vascular procedures.
• Monitor and document hemodynamic status and cardiac rhythms.
• Operate cath lab imaging, fluoroscopy, monitoring and procedural equipment.
• Prepare sterile fields, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Recognize arrhythmias and respond during emergencies.
• Assist with defibrillation and temporary pacing when needed.
• Educate and reassure patients throughout their procedural experience.
• Maintain radiation safety and infection control standards.

What You'll Do

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Associate's Degree or equivalent.

Required License Certification and Registration: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certified as an ARRT, or be certified as an RCIS or RCES with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
