Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician to support patient visits by gathering histories, obtaining vitals, and performing cardiac diagnostic procedures. You will setup equipment, enter data, and prepare spaces for testing across Heart Center locations.

The role requires EKG testing and monitoring experience, BLS certification, and potential EPIC/EMR usage. This is an onsite, full-time position with flexible responsibilities and strong teamwork expectations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in health care or related field.
• 1 year relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; EKG tech cert preferred and required after 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document vital signs and cardiac tests (EKG, Holter, loop/event monitors, CPET, tilt table, stress tests).
• Prepare, scan, and maintain holter/event monitor kits and databases.
• Clean and restock EKG and exam rooms between patients and at end of day.
• Educate patients and families on testing procedures and follow cardiologist orders.
• Perform EKGs and other testing for inpatient units as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiac testing equipment; escalate issues to Biomedical Services as needed.
• Generate and submit test reports and usable data for physician interpretation.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Provide administrative support, assist with quality improvement efforts, and participate in inventory tracking.
