Akron Children's Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) to support patient visits by gathering histories, vitals, and performing cardiac diagnostic procedures. The role includes equipment setup, data reporting, and assisting across Heart Center locations.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs, monitor setup, patient education, and ensuring safety/infection control; inpatient testing support and collaboration across units are expected.

Formación

• Associate's degree in health care or related field required; 5 years healthcare experience or 2 years clinical with cardiac experience in lieu of degree.
• BLS certification required; EKG technician certification preferred, required after 1 year of employment.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform and document vital signs, patient histories, and cardiac tests (EKG, Holter, loop/event monitors, CPET, tilt table, stress tests).
• Prepare, scan, and maintain holter/event monitor kits and databases.
• Clean and restock EKG and exam rooms between patients and at end of day.
• Educate patients and families on testing procedures and follow cardiologist orders for testing.
• Perform EKGs and other testing for inpatient units as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiac testing equipment; escalate issues to Biomedical Services when necessary.
• Generate and submit test reports and usable data for physician interpretation.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Provide administrative support, assist with quality improvement efforts, and participate in inventory tracking.

LPN/MA with cardiac experience preferred

Basic Life Support certification
