Job summary

Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital St Joseph is seeking a skilled professional to assist the cardiologist in diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures, contributing to improved cardiac function and patient safety. You will support equipment operation and data collection while maintaining clear communication with the care team.

Responsibilities include preparing the room, providing instruments, maintaining documentation, administering medications as directed, and ensuring continuity of care

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree health care related field
• Direct patient care in the acute care/hospital setting preferred
• Knowledge of ECG tracings preferred
• Previous procedural experience preferred
• CRT-BLS (AHA) 30 days required or CRT-BLS ARC 30 days required
• CRT-ACLS (AHA) 1 year required
• CRT-PALS (AHA) 1 year required if working with pediatric patients
• CRT-RCIS/RCES - 3 years required
• CRT-RCES - 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patient for the procedure.
• Supports and collects necessary data to ensure the safety and quality expectations are met for the patient and the team.
• Provides sterile instruments and supplies during the diagnostic and invasive cardiac procedures.
• Assists with and operates supporting equipment needed for procedure (recording system, mapping system, ultrasound system, advanced circulatory pumps, FFR, OCT, laser equipment).
• Maintains documentation of the procedure for accurate clinical, hemodynamic, billing and quality requirements.
• Administers medications under the immediate direction of the physician.
• Prepares room for cardiac catheterization procedures, restocks room as necessary, and cleans and prepares equipment, stretchers, work areas and reusable supplies.
• Communicates and collaborates with patients and other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
