Job summary

UT Health Tyler in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiovascular OR Surgical Tech (CST) to join our surgical team.

As the primary scrub technologist, you will maintain sterile field and apply aseptic technique across routine and complex procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency. Candidates should graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program, hold current BLS, and obtain NBSTSA/NCCT or Texas DOSH credential within the required timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer before direct patient care.
• Current certification by NBSTSA / NCCT or Texas DOSH-approved program within 90 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Functions as primary scrub technologist for routine and complex procedures, maintaining sterile field.
• Apply aseptic technique and support cost-effective, safe patient care in the OR.

Responsibilities

Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures, while consistently demonstrating clinical skills with confidence and competence. Individual is responsible for ensuring, along with other surgical team members, that they maintain the sterile field, applying aseptic technique principles to ensure a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment to all patients that clearly spells quality and excellence.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Current certification with one of the following:
• The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service within 90 days of graduation from accredited surgical technology program.

Preferred Job Requirements:
