Job summary

Tyler Regional Hospital in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Surgical Tech (CST). Join our surgical services team dedicated to patient-centered care in a high-volume CVOR environment.

The CST functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of procedures, maintains the sterile field, and applies aseptic technique to support safe, cost-effective patient care. Requirements include a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• Current certification by NBSTSA or NCT or Texas DSHS approved program within 90 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Functions as primary scrub technologist for routine and complex CVOR procedures, maintaining sterile field with aseptic technique.
• Support the surgical team to ensure safe, aseptic, and cost-effective patient care.

Responsibilities

Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures, while consistently demonstrating clinical skills with confidence and competence. The individual is responsible for ensuring, alongside other surgical team members, that they maintain the sterile field, applying aseptic technique principles to ensure a safe, aseptic, and cost-effective environment for all patients that clearly spells quality and excellence.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Current certification with one of the following: The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service within 90 days of graduation from accredited surgical technology program.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Operating Room experience.
