Job summary

Dell Medical School in collaboration with supervising physicians expands individualized healthcare by diagnosing and treating adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. The role supports the operating room team as an OR-based Physician Assistant.

You will obtain patient histories, order and interpret studies, provide direct treatment, counsel patients and families, document care, and participate in staff and student education in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Board-certified PA with Prescriptive Authority
• 1 year experience in cardiothoracic surgical first assisting
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
• Strong collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Operating Room-based Physician Assistants will primarily work assisting in the cardiovascular operating room.
• Obtains patient history and performs assessment, orders and interprets diagnostic studies.
• Delivers direct treatment and manages conditions with prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsels patients and families about health options and resources.
• Documents care and participates in staff and student education.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
