Job summary

Qualifications

• Board-certified Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority.
• 1+ year of cardiothoracic surgical first-assisting experience (endoscopic and open conduit harvest).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
• Equivalency of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiovascular operating room as first assistant.
• Obtain history, assess, order/interpret diagnostic tests, and perform health assessments.
• Provide treatment and management with prescriptive authority or referrals.
• Counsel patients and families about conditions and treatment options.
• Document care per specialty standards and participate in staff and student education.
• Other related functions as assigned.
