Job summary

Baptist Health Shelby Hosptial in Alabaster, AL seeks a Registered Nurse for Cardiovascular Stepdown on a FT PM shift 7p-7a, every 3rd weekend. Join a dedicated team delivering high-acuity patient care and ECMO support as needed.

You will work alongside physicians and the nursing leadership to provide evidence-based care, mentor staff, and ensure compliance with hospital policies while maintaining compassionate patient and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• 1 year experience required unless AVP level or above.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment and records cardiac monitors and Ventilatory devices.
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
• Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized plan of care.
• Documents patient care meeting required standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates caring practices and patient-family advocacy.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with Baptist Health policies.
