Mercy in Joplin is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer - Lead to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, operate imaging equipment, and ensure patient safety. You will lead when leadership is unavailable, coordinate daily work, and aid in training.

Strong communication with patients and healthcare teams is essential to deliver optimal care. Eligibile candidates should have ARDMS/CCI certifications, BLS, and relevant ultrasound experience.

The Cardiovascular Sonographer - Lead performs a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures assisting in diagnosing and monitoring a wide range of medical conditions. This role requires proficiency and thorough understanding of operating imaging equipment and procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining imaging standards. Responsibilities also include serving as lead when direct leadership is unavailable, coordinating daily work assignments and assisting in training. Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours OR received on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound.

Experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program

Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certification: ARDMS (RVT) or CCI(RVS) or ARRT(RVS) AND ARDMS(RDCS) or CCI(RCS); Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage schedules, and coordinate daily operations.
• Capability to make informed decisions regarding imaging procedures, patient care, and team management.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, such as performing imaging procedures while supervising team members.
• Proficient knowledge in producing diagnostic images with the ability to recognize technical abnormalities
• Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures as applicable
• Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.
• Knowledge of quality improvement programs.
• Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
• Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
