Job description

Responsibilities

The CARDIAC CATH LAB at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center plays a critical role within the Cardiac Service Line of Excellence supporting the Heart & Vascular Institute. It is located on the 2nd floor of the Heart Lung Tower. The Cardiac Cath Lab consists of 4 rooms plus a Hybrid room, dedicated to providing diagnostic and interventional services, including pacemakers, AICDs, Electrophysiology procedures, TAVR, Mitral Clip, and LAAO.

As our Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist at SJHMC, you will help deliver excellent patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting.

Every day, you’ll independently operate all ancillary equipment in the lab, including but not limited to: IVUS, pressure wire, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser, and angiojet. You will demonstrate competencies in scrubbing techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilize good radiation safety practices, and make a positive impact on internal and external customers.

To be successful in this role, you need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging, including the workflow, patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

  • Thorough and accurate imaging technique for patient positioning according to the imaging order
  • Routinely apply sterile techniques and safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining radiology equipment to prevent failures

We offer an Education Benefit program for eligible employees after 180 days, providing debt relief and student loan assistance—up to $18,000 over five years for full-time employees and $9,000 for part-time employees.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Two (2) years of current Radiology Technologist experience, including hands-on scrub and interventional procedures
  • Completion of an approved JRCERT Radiologic Technologist Program

Licensure:

  • Current Radiology License (CRT)
  • Current Arizona State License (MRTBE)
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS (preferred) and BLS certifications
