Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Cardiovascular Operating Room. You will scrub, assist surgeons, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field in a high-demand OR environment.

Responsibilities include perioperative care across all phases, respecting surgeon preferences, and upholding universal precautions. The schedule is 6:00am-2:30pm with on-call requirements and a sign-on bonus up to $7,000.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited through CAAHEP/ABHES or military program or CST.
• BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality perioperative patient care in the perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Maintain the sterile field, assist with draping and instrument counts.
• Prepare sterile tables, pass instruments to the surgeon and RN Circulator, and assist as needed.
• Review daily assignments and follow surgeon preferences and anesthesia orders.
• Identify and prioritize patient care needs, plan care, and ensure safe patient handling.
• Assist with aseptic technique, instrument readiness, and proper decontamination documentation.
• Communicate during procedure and adjustments, and ensure universal precautions.
