Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Florida seeks a Surgical Technologist to join a skilled perioperative team. You will assist during cardio-thoracic and vascular procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons and circulating nurses throughout all operative phases.

Ideal candidates have graduating certification from an accredited program, CST/TS-C certification or military equivalent, and BLS certification. On‑site schedule with on‑call requirements applies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES).
• Military surgical tech program completion is acceptable.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist (TS-C or CST) is required or preferred.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, individualized patient care in perioperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases.
• Follow perioperative guidelines and maintain aseptic technique.
• Maintain sterile field and support surgeon and RN Circulator during procedures.
• Review assignments, anticipate surgeon preferences, and assist with equipment and supplies.
• Assist with draping, sponge and instrument counts, and specimen handling as directed.
• Ensure proper room turnover, equipment maintenance, and documentation of counts.

Education

Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through the CAAHEP or ABHES

Military surgical technology program completion

Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C or CST)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
