American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with cardiovascular experience for a hospital Operating Room position in Colorado. You will scrub CV cases, maintain sterile fields, and assist in procedures under RN supervision.

The role requires NBSTSA certification, BLS, and an accredited ORT program. The schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts with on-call duties, and the team emphasizes patient safety and efficient OR turnover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Surgical Tech experience.
• At least 1 year of scrubbing in cardiovascular (CV) surgeries.
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or equivalent qualifying experience.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required, must not expire prior to start.
• State license required if applicable.
• Epic charting experience required.
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Operating Room unit setting.
• 3x12-hour Day shifts per week.
• On-call requirement with 30-minute response time.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Function as a member of the surgical team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure environmental safety throughout procedures.
• Recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Prepare operating room and instruments prior to surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons during procedures within ORT scope of practice.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations with sound clinical judgement.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for subsequent procedures.
• Returning employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least one year before being eligible for a new assignment.
