Qualifications

• Must hold CST certification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments and equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies.
• Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout surgery.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery.
• Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training.
