Baystate Health in Springfield, MA seeks a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS)/Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CES) to support cardiac, neuro, and peripheral vascular procedures. The role covers scrub assistance, patient monitoring, data capture, and equipment management in a fast-paced setting.

The CIS/CES will maintain ACLS/BLS, perform aseptic technique, and coordinate with physicians to ensure safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited CVT or RT program.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and anatomy/physiology.
• ACLS and BLS certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Participates in team huddle and all steps of the procedure.
• Acts as first assist during cardiovascular and neurovascular procedures.
• Maintains ACLS/BLS certification and healthcare provider CPR.
• Operates and maintains diagnostic/therapeutic equipment under physician direction.
• Prepares patient in prep/recovery and procedure rooms.
• Explains process and reinforces patient teachings during the procedure.
• Sets up non-invasive monitoring (EKG, BP, SpO2).
• Preps and drapes patients using aseptic technique.
• Guides wires and catheters under fluoroscopic guidance.
• Obtains invasive hemodynamic data and samples as needed.
• Injects contrast for imaging visualization.
• Manages diagnostic/therapeutic modalities (FFR, IABP, etc.).
• Performs point-of-care testing.
• Assists with emergency resuscitation.
• Monitors patient and documents procedure details.
• Manages access site and hemostasis.
• Attends training and on-call rotations to maintain competency.
• Dysrhythmia recognition.
• Obtains RCIS within 3 years of hire, if eligible for exam.
