Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center is seeking a CV Interventional Radiology Technologist to support invasive cardiac procedures and vascular labs. The role requires radiography licensure for the state of service, ARRT certification per location, and BLS.

You will work in a dynamic lab, assisting physicians, monitoring patients, and documenting procedures while ensuring sterile technique and patient safety throughout all interventions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Must possess current Radiography license as required by state board where services will be provided.
• MD: Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians
• OH: Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology
• PA: No state license required
• WV: Radiography License through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board.
• ARRT certification required within designated location: MD/OH/PA/WV timelines.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and prepare medications under direct Physician order for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with lab setup for procedures.
• Monitor patient ECG and blood pressure; report findings to Physician promptly.
• Answer calls courteously and identify unit and self clearly.
• Coordinate lab schedule with patient demand and physician availability.
• Act as code team with physician supervision for resuscitation and defibrillation.
• Document procedures, manage inventory, and bill via EMR.
• Escort patients to appropriate departments safely.
• Apply electrocautery and ablation pads under physician supervision.
• Instruct radiography students on technique and equipment use.
• Monitor hemodynamics and prepare entry sites with sterile technique.
• Participate in department inventory management and pre-procedure checks.
