Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care and support patient recovery in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• TN RN license required.
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS certification within 6 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic and patient monitoring with detection and escalation of acute changes.
• Administration and monitoring of therapies, including IVs and medications, with safety adherence and fall/skin risk prevention.
• Effective management of rapidly changing situations through assessment and anticipatory planning.
• Organization and work-rule competencies: prioritizing, coordinating and meeting multiple patient needs.
• Supporting role to provide a healing environment, patient advocacy, and compassionate care.
• Teaching and coaching: assess patient learning readiness and explain conditions and treatment in understandable terms.

• Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
• Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
• Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
• Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
• Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.
