Job summary
MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for our Cardiovascular Intermediate Care (CVIMC) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The role requires leadership to mentor staff, oversee two cardiovascular units, and drive exceptional patient care across shifts, including day, evening, and night hours as needed.
The ideal candidate is an experienced RN with CVICU/CCU/CVIMC exposure and holds an MD RN license (or equivalent) with BLS.
Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Experience in CVICU, CCU, or CVIMC (strongly preferred).
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations and mentor nursing staff across two cardiovascular units.
- Partner with leadership to ensure high-quality, safe patient care and efficient staffing.
- Lead and develop teams, influence outcomes, and ensure regulatory standards are met.
- Assume administrative leadership during specific shifts to maintain unit operations.
