Job summary

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for the Cardiovascular Intermediate Care (CVIMC) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role supports nursing leadership, coordinates patient care across two units, mentors staff, and helps maintain clinical standards in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates have CVICU or cardiovascular step-down experience and hold an MD RN license with BLS certification,

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Experience in CVICU, CCU, or CVIMC strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Compact State RN and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care across two specialized cardiovascular units.
• Provide nursing leadership and mentor staff to uphold clinical standards.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
• Promote safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing practices.
