A leading healthcare provider seeks a skilled technician for the Cardiac Catheterization/Electrophysiology Lab at Rhode Island Hospital. This role involves operating specialized medical equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing technical support in invasive cardiac procedures. Candidates should have an associate degree in an allied health field and relevant certifications, alongside at least one year of laboratory experience.
Under the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology Laboratory Manager and according to established protocols, this role involves clinical and technical assistance in invasive and non-invasive cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology procedures. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, assisting physicians, acquiring and recording data, and participating in process improvement activities.
Qualifications: Associate degree in an allied health field or accredited program certification; licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, RCIS, or RCES; BLS and ACLS certifications within 3 months.
Experience: At least 1 year in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, or Interventional Radiology Lab, with demonstrated technical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular physiology.
Physical & Environmental Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift and transfer patients and equipment, and work safely in a lab environment with radiation and electrical hazards.
Performs independently within policies; no supervisory responsibilities.
