Under the direct supervision of the Cardiovascular/Electrophysiology Laboratory Manager and according to established protocols, assists clinically and technically in invasive and non-invasive cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology procedures utilizing specialized equipment while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Sets up, operates, and maintains specialized physiological systems and instrumentation used for patient monitoring during procedures. May assist physicians in preparing and performing procedures. Acquires, enters, and records data, performs tests and calculations, and shares essential information through documentation and verbal communication. Participates in continuous process improvement activities in the unit.
Works in a lab and surgical area with exposure to hazards, requiring walking, standing, lifting, and carrying.
Performs independently within department policies, referring complex issues to supervisors.
