Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks an Associate Director/Director of Clinical Development to drive cardiovascular programs, shape strategy, and ensure operational excellence across Phase 2/3 trials.

The role requires an MD or MD/PhD with clinical trial experience, plus strong leadership and communication skills. Travel up to 20% is expected as you collaborate with investigators, regulatory teams, and advisory boards.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD with clinical trial experience.
• Minimum 2 years in drug development (industry) or equivalent academia biomedical research.
• Proven success leading clinical studies and protocol development.
• Strong scientific scholarship; expertise in clinical medicine and biomedical research.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills; exceptional verbal/written/presentation skills.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to clinical development strategy for HCM and HFpEF (operational excellence and innovation).
• Partner with Clinical Operations to support trial execution, including medical communications with clinical investigators.
• Engage trial sites/investigators to support patient enrollment and retention (Phase 2/Phase 3).
• Support advisory boards (Scientific Advisory Committee) and DMC meetings for assigned programs.
• Analyze/summarize clinical data to inform safety, efficacy, regulatory filings, study reports, and publications.
• Draft clinical sections of regulatory submissions (INDs, briefing documents, BLAs) and prepare for FDA/EMA meetings.
• Work with regulatory colleagues on documents and FDA/EMA responses.
• Contribute to development/refinement of Phase 2 HFpEF and Phase 3 HCM protocols.
• Serve as medical monitor to help ensure participant safety.
• Represent the company in external scientific/medical conferences as needed.
