Job summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL, provides perioperative care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ICU teams, and nursing staff.

Responsibilities include inpatient rounding, first assisting in the OR, managing pre and postoperative patients, and participating in call coverage.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Illinois as NP or PA with active credentials.
• Neonatal NP certification required for NPs.
• ACNP certification and DEA registration are required.
• BLS/ACLS certified and eligible for Medicare/Medicaid participation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first assist in cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
• Perform postoperative rounds and manage complex care.
• Coordinate perioperative care with ICU and OR teams.
• Order, interpret tests and manage medications as needed.
• Participate in 8–10 hour shifts with call rotation.
