Job description

Cardiothoracic Surgery Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

The award-winning physicians at Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute are all board-certified, with many having completed fellowships or received additional training through leading programs. Our expert clinicians utilize ongoing medical education to advance research and improve collaboration, leading to better patient outcomes.

• Per-diem coverage supporting the 11-bed cardiothoracic surgery ICU (Open Heart Unit).
• Collaborate with attending cardiothoracic surgeons and non-surgical providers for the medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Responsibilities include managing post-cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, ECMO, LVAD, bedside procedures, and supporting inpatient practice needs.
• Conduct initial evaluations, histories, and physical examinations of assigned patients.
• Insert invasive monitoring lines such as central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement, and research projects.
• Contribute to service-related databases as needed.
• Educate patients and families throughout their inpatient stay.
