Albany Medical Center seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Cardiothoracic Surgery team in a high-acuity inpatient setting. The role includes critical care, surgical assistance, and broad clinical responsibilities across perioperative care.

Responsibilities emphasize ICU management, rounds, documentation, and coordinated care with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and quality of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to critically ill patients in Cardiothoracic ICU.
• Serve as first/second assist in cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Perform bedside procedures: thoracentesis, line placements, chest tubes.
• Manage preop, periop, and postop care and discharge planning.
• Lead daily rounds and care coordination with teams.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and clinical staff.
