Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Louisville, KY seeks a Cardiologist to provide expert cardiovascular care for veterans.

The physician will conduct comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. The ideal candidate has an MD/DO, an unrestricted medical license in the United States, and board-eligible training with potential teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or eligibility as required by VA policy.
• MD/DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or Territories.
• Completed residency in an approved core specialty leading to board eligibility.
• Board certification preferred for teaching/academic roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular evaluations and manage patients with heart and vascular diseases.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including medications, lifestyle changes, and possible interventions.
• Interpret EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and catheterizations.
• Supervise and participate in cardiac procedures (angioplasty, stenting, EP studies, pacemaker/ICD).
• Collaborate with primary care and multidisciplinary teams; educate patients and families.
• Contribute to research and quality improvement activities at the VA.
