Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) to join perioperative services. The RNFA will support preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care, assist surgeons, and help optimize surgical productivity while mentoring residents.

Eligible candidates must hold a BSN, be RN licensed in NC, and complete RNFA/CSFA certification within two years; prior CSFA acceptable for hires before 2/1/26.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• RN licensure in North Carolina.
• RNFA or CSFA certification required within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative patient management in collaboration with the team.
• Intraoperative surgical first assisting and exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing.
• Postoperative management, orders, rounds and discharge planning.
