Palm Health Resources in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for a full- continuum role focused on the Operating Room, primarily as first assist, with inpatient CV care alongside our Cardiothoracic Surgeons.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in inpatient CV, FL PA/NP license, DEA and Board of Pharmacy registrations. Work schedule: five eight-hour shifts and two weekends per month with OR call 1:2.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted FL PA/NP license.
• Valid FL controlled substance registration (DEA).
• Board of Pharmacy and DEA registrations required.

Responsibilities

• First assisting in the operating room.
• Manage CVICU, CVIMC and step-down unit patients.
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons.
• Participate in multidisciplinary inpatient care.

Job description

Palm Health Resources is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant in Beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida!

Full Continuum of Care position with a focus on the Operating Room. The candidate will perform a mix of duties with a primary focus of First Assisting in the Operating Room. The selected candidate will have a commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach to inpatient care in partnership with our Cardiothoracic Surgeons. This candidate will also manage the CVICU & CVIMC as well as the step-down unit patients.

Our practice specializes in adult cardiac surgery, Aortic surgery, Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery, Thoracic surgery, and Hybrid Maze procedure for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation. Our practice also implants and manages ECMO and the Impella 5.5. The program participates in the STS Registry and aggressively benchmarks performance as part of an ever-vigilant quality and outcomes improvement program. The program strives to improve the cardiothoracic profession and is participating in the cutting-edge clinical research, development of new programs, and educational opportunities.

Candidate will work 5 8 hour shifts and 2 weekends per month. Call will be 1:2, OR Call only. There are 2 Surgeons, 2 Floor/Clinic NP’s, 1 Floor/Clinic PA

Requirements:

Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in FL; valid controlled substance registration with FL; Board of Pharmacy and DEA.

At least 2 years in inpatient CV experience

A strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.

Previous APP experience in cardiac disease management
