Job summary

Palm Health Resources is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for a high-profile Cardiothoracic Surgery Group in Roanoke, VA. The role focuses predominantly on OR first assisting, with opportunities for inpatient consults when not needed in the OR.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, five 8-hour shifts, with occasional on-call (1:4). The team operates at a tertiary CV center with plans for a new Cardiovascular Institute in July ’25; comprehensive benefits and relocation

Qualifications

• Experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant
• Proficient in OR first assisting
• Board-certified PA preferred

Responsibilities

• Primary OR first assist for cardiothoracic procedures (CT surgery)
• Assist with IP/ED consults when not needed in the OR
• Assist with chest tubes/drains on weekends if required

Job description

Palm Health Resources is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for a high profile Cardiothoracic Surgery Group in Roanoke, VA!

The Majority of the role is at least 70-75% OR Time First Assisting; however, the CVOR PAs also assist with IP/ED consults if not needed in the OR.

The advanced practice provider shall work Monday-Friday, 5 8 hour shifts with only one weekend per month! On call is 1 in 4. It is primarily OR call; however, on weekends the EVH PA may be asked to assist with removing chest tubes/drains.

How big is your cardiac surgery division ? This year so far, we performed over 600 CT surgery procedures.We have 6 CT Surgeons, approximately 10 NPs/PAs dedicated to the Inpatient CT Surgery Service, 3 EVH PAs and 1EVH SFA.We have 2 NPs/PAs in the CT Surgery practice
