Job summary

Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a registered nurse to provide perioperative patient care in the intraoperative phase, serving both scrub and circulating roles. The position is full-time with a day shift and requires call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

You will prepare for cases, maintain aseptic technique, monitor equipment, document perioperative data, and communicate with patients, families and the OR team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Registered Nurse license issued/defined by Iowa.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire (Healthcare Providers).
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and a safe environment for patient and staff.
• Collects and analyzes data and assesses patient in developing nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function.
• Initiates and directs room turnover.
