Qualifications

• Education requirement includes Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing (preferred) or program graduate; nursing diploma acceptable in lieu of diploma
• Experience: 6 months Cardiothoracic OR RN operating room experience required; 2 years OR RN operating room experience required
• Licenses/Certifications: RN license (Virginia or compact state), CPR/BLS, ACLS, CNOR within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Assess Cardiothoracic patient clinical and psychosocial needs and develop, implement, and evaluate plan of care
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and ensure safe patient transitions
• Educate patients and families; document education and discharge planning
• Maintain emergency readiness, nursing documentation, and adherence to standards and regulatory requirements
