ECAA - Anesthesia Specialists in Greenville, NC seeks a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist to lead anesthesia for complex cardiac cases at ECU Health Medical Center. You will evaluate patients, determine anesthesia plans, and provide medical direction to CRNAs and AAs to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role involves cardiothoracic cases (CABG, valves, TAVRs, TMVRs, ECMO), with typical in-house overnight call and collaboration with a Heart Institute focused on education and patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology.
• Completion or pursuit of Cardiothoracic fellowship.
• NC state medical license.
• Minimum 3+ years’ high-acuity anesthesia experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and administers general and regional anesthetics and pain medication as needed.
• Maintains anesthesia during procedures and adjusts as required.
• Keeps accurate patient records.
• Orders diagnostic tests as needed.
• Collaborates closely with surgical teams and specialists.
• Performs venous and arterial punctures as indicated.
• Conducts pre-anesthesia evaluations.
• Provides post-anesthesia care and evaluation.
• Monitors mechanical ventilation when required.
• Communicates with patients and families about care plans.
• Responds to adverse events and complications appropriately.
• Reviews histories, labs, and surgical plans to craft anesthesia strategies.
• Monitors fluids, electrolytes, and vital signs during procedures.
• Performs airway management including intubation and extubation.
• Oversees post-procedure recovery and safety.
• Supervises CRNAs, AAs, and other staff; mentors trainees.
