Job summary

San Gabriel Valley Medical Center in San Gabriel, CA, seeks a Director of Cardiopulmonary Services to lead the department, ensuring high-quality respiratory care, EKG/EEG, and related services while aligning with hospital goals. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Minimum three years management experience required.
• Experience as a Lead Respiratory Practitioner.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or related field or currently enrolled and working towards a Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• CA License as Respiratory Care Practitioner, BCLS-C and ACLS certified; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and evaluates the cardiopulmonary department personnel.
• Negotiates equipment contracts and advises on equipment selection.
• Ensures quality of cardiopulmonary services per Joint Commission standards.
• Coordinates cardiopulmonary services with nursing and other medical staff.
• Coordinates all cardiopulmonary therapy student training programs.
• Oversees training of staff on equipment and new procedures.
• Interviews, appoints, develops, and evaluates staff.
• Reviews and approves department work schedules.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation, licensing and quality assurance standards.
