Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking an Exercise Physiologist PRN to develop cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from heart conditions. You will assess, supervise, and guide patients through individualized exercise plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The role requires a Master’s degree in exercise physiology or related field, BLS certification, and experience in clinical rehab. ACLS is preferred, with a focus on patient education and safety.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, or related field.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in a clinical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Certifications such as ACSM CEP or AACVPR Cardiovascular Pulmonary Rehabilitation Professional.
• Advanced skills in EKG interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac medications and their effects on exercise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized exercise programs for patients recovering from heart-related conditions.
• Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments to track progress and adjust programs.
• Lead and supervise patients during exercise sessions.
• Educate patients on heart-healthy lifestyle changes and risk factor reduction.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patients' progress and treatment plans.
• Stay current with advancements in the field and attend continuing education courses as needed.
