Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, MI seeks an Exercise Physiologist to oversee the three phases of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, ensure patient safety, and coordinate with the multi‑disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

The role emphasizes assessment, individualized exercise prescriptions, and ongoing re‑assessment, with a focus on education and self‑management to return patients to independence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Fitness or Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily CR-PR operations to provide extraordinary care.
• Communicates with multi-disciplinary team, patients, and support system.
• Participates in staff training, annual skills competencies, and performance reviews.
• Maintains Emergency Preparedness and patient safety in CRPR.
• Performs daily medication reconciliation with each patient.
• Observes ECG, Telemetry Monitoring and Vital Signs during CRPR sessions.
• Performs glucose monitoring as indicated.
• Conducts Functional Capacity Assessments (6-Minute Walk Test, Step Test, Sit-to-Stands).
• Instructs patients and conducts gym orientation; assesses baseline exercise capacity.
• Develops/implements physician‑approved treatment plans and re‑assesses every 30 days.
• Provides risk stratification, behavior modification, and self‑management education.
• Collects patient outcome data for program improvement.
• Promotes community benefits education and external professional networking.
