Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Assistant to support the Respiratory Therapy Department. This role includes assisting with respiratory care, cardiac testing, EKG setup, and stress testing under the direction of a licensed practitioner.

The position requires flexibility for days, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational level is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.

• Perform cardiographic testing modalities, EKG, heart monitor set up, and stress testing as required.

Description The Cardiopulmonary Assistant in the Respiratory Therapy Department under the direction of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, will provide support for respiratory care services for the treatment of patients with disordered respiratory physiology, and will perform tasks in the clinical setting as delegated by the respiratory care practitioner. The Cardiopulmonary Assistant in the cardiology department is responsible for the performing and processing of cardiographic testing modalities, EKG, heart monitor set up, and stress testing. He/she abides by all hospital policies and interacts with staff from all areas of the hospital. Staffing in the department is 24 hours a day and includes shifts for days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Position Requirements

Education:

• Minimum educational level is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.

Experience:

• Preferred- experience in healthcare setting for 6 months or specialized training in a cardiopulmonary program, or PATH program.

Certifications/Licenses:

• BLS required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
