Job summary

CVCA Fairfax is seeking a veterinary cardiology assistant to join a specialized center delivering high-level cardiac care. You'll support cardiologists and technicians with exams, venipuncture, imaging, and patient handling in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (must be at least 18).
• Veterinary assistant experience is required; experience in a cardiology or specialty environment is a plus.
• The physical capability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs, with comfort in prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.
• Calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment with composure.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Hands-On Clinical Support: assist cardiologists and technicians with exams, triage, procedures, venipuncture, medications, and radiographs.
• Support Specialized Cardiac Diagnostics: assist with ECGs, Holter monitors, data collection, and blood pressure measurement documentation.
• Prepare and Support Every Patient: position, restraint, assist during procedures, instrument cleaning, sterilization, and equipment maintenance.
• Provide Compassionate Care: ensure patient comfort and a clean, organized facility.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: discharge patients, review plans, medication administration, and scheduling.
• Drive Operational Excellence: maintain medical records, prescriptions, invoices, and inventory; support turnover and training.
